Country Representative – Guinea

About the role

The Country Representative will provide strategic leadership for Catholic Relief Services in Guinea, guiding both programming and operations to serve the poor and vulnerable. This senior position is responsible for advancing CRS’s mission, ensuring high‑impact delivery, and managing security and risk in a complex environment.

Key responsibilities

• Champion CRS’s vision, mission and strategy, setting medium‑ and long‑term goals.
• Align program and operations objectives with the overall strategy and donor expectations.
• Supervise senior programming and operations staff, conduct performance assessments and develop staffing plans.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with national and international organizations, including Church partners, governments and donors.
• Monitor national and regional risks, ensure staff safety and security compliance, and update security plans as needed.
• Oversee financial compliance, monthly expenditure analysis and efficient use of agency and donor resources.
• Lead growth initiatives, pre‑positioning and capture planning for new opportunities.
• Foster a learning environment, promote accountability and apply MEAL policies across sectors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, International Relations or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience managing complex relief and development programmes.
• Proven track record handling high‑value projects funded by USG, DFID, EU, Global Fund or UN agencies.
• Experience engaging and strengthening partnerships; experience with Church partners is a plus.
