Mechanical Technician – Site Based (Guinea)

About the role

Aggreko is looking for a motivated Mechanical Technician to join its site in Guinea. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing Cummins DO and HFO power plant MAN 9L 21/31 engines, ensuring reliable performance in line with Aggreko standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical equipment maintenance according to work instructions and OEM guidelines.
• Assist with major mechanical overhauls such as 16K, 32K, and 48K services.
• Conduct systematic fault finding, repairs, and component replacements on generators.
• Identify and fix leaks in Light Fuel Oil (LFO) and Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) pipework.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic records, including investigation reports.
• Operate inventory and maintenance management systems (M3, MMS, ATA or equivalents).
• Follow 5S, housekeeping, and safety procedures, including LOTO compliance.

Required profile

• Certified LOTO holder (or able to obtain within 6 months) and maintain certification.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Capability to work autonomously and follow detailed work instructions.
• Successful completion of mechanical technician intermediate‑level assessments.

Required skills

• Experience with M3 maintenance management system.
• Familiarity with MMS (Maintenance Management System) and ATA (Aggreko Technician App).
• Proficiency in using specialist mechanical tools and ensuring calibration.
• Knowledge of engine component replacement and leak detection on fuel oil systems.
