Superintendent Water Management – Mining Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, safety‑focused Superintendent Water Management to lead all water‑related activities at the Simandou mining operation. The role is responsible for the strategic, technical and operational delivery of groundwater and surface water programmes that support safe, sustainable and efficient mining.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the safe delivery of site water‑management activities, including water supply, dewatering, depressurisation and storm‑water control.
• Develop and implement comprehensive water‑management plans aligned with mine planning, construction and operations.
• Provide technical leadership for groundwater, surface water systems, hydrology studies and water‑infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations and company standards.
• Manage water‑related risks, support operational decision‑making and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee monitoring, reporting and performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Build and develop a high‑performing water‑management team, fostering capability and accountability.
• Manage budgets, contracts and resources for water‑management functions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mine water management, covering water supply, dewatering, depressurisation, storm‑water and sediment control.
• Experience working in high‑rainfall environments and developing wet‑season plans.
• Degree in Geosciences or a related discipline.
• Strong leadership, change‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Proven capability to build and develop teams and manage budgets.
