Country HSE Manager

About the role

The Country HSE Manager will lead the implementation of BIA's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policy across Guinea. Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, you will ensure a strong safety culture, legal compliance and continuous improvement of the HSE management system.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses and ensure control measures are in place.
• Maintain legal compliance by tracking and applying relevant HSE regulations.
• Implement and monitor the HSE training matrix, including inductions and ongoing training.
• Execute the inspection plan, design tool/chemical identification sheets, and manage emergency plans and drills.
• Report incidents, lead investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare weekly KPI reports for the Regional HSE Manager.
• Oversee proper use and management of personal protective equipment (PPE) and support security management improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in mining or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
