Freelance Corporate & Regulatory Compliance Lawyer (Pan‑African)

About the role

We are a legal‑tech platform that streamlines regulatory compliance for oil and gas companies across Africa. As an independent contractor you will join a country‑specific network of lawyers, accessing compliance tasks through our secure digital dashboard and working on your own schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and process oil and gas licences, permits and other regulatory documents specific to your jurisdiction.
• Analyse incoming compliance briefs, provide accurate cost and time estimates, and submit competitive quotes.
• Ensure all legal deliverables comply with current national laws and regulator requirements.
• Upload completed work, track milestones and manage payouts via the platform dashboard.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent legal qualification with active bar membership in your country.
• 3–5 years of corporate and regulatory experience in the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Proven interaction with national energy regulators (e.g., NUPRC, Petroleum Commission, etc.).
• Comfort operating as a freelance contractor, managing your own pipeline and pricing tasks.
