Retail Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Retail Maintenance Engineer will supervise and manage maintenance activities for retail equipment and sites, ensuring reliable operation while staying within budget. You will coordinate minor capital projects such as pump replacements and support the overall maintenance strategy for VEU and its retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage equipment maintenance contracts and ensure timely, quality work with minimal disruption to station operations.
• Create and control the annual maintenance budget, scheduling planned works like painting and minor repairs.
• Oversee local contractors, evaluate performance against KPIs, and ensure compliance with contract procedures.
• Capitalize completed installations, maintain the asset database, and handle asset movements.
• Conduct procurement in line with company contracting rules.
• Deliver high‑customer‑satisfaction maintenance services and support the Construction Engineer on capital projects.
• Ensure HSSE compliance for contractors working at dispersed sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of retail construction, maintenance, procurement, and tendering processes.
• Familiarity with service‑station components and health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
• Strong computer literacy and effective communication skills.
