Senior Sourcing Specialist

About the role

Rio Tinto is looking for a Senior Sourcing Specialist to support the Procurement Manager on strategic sourcing projects for Simfer SA. Based in Conakry, the role involves frequent travel to project sites in Beyla, Forécariah and the port, with the possibility of FIFO arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of material and service categories, including equipment and office supplies.
• Manage a sourcing team that supports all procurement activities.
• Conduct market analysis to identify new sources and value‑creation opportunities.
• Develop and implement sourcing contracts, strategies and procedures for the Simandou project.
• Prepare tender documents, select suppliers, negotiate commercial terms and ensure compliance with Simfer SA governance.
• Set and monitor KPIs for supplier performance and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Continuously improve sourcing processes and engage internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• MBA, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business, Law or Engineering.
• 5‑7 years of experience in contract management and procurement.
• Strong project‑management background and understanding of contract principles.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Experience leading high‑performing, multicultural teams is an advantage.
• Knowledge of commercial and mining law in Guinea is preferred.
