Deputy Project & Contract Manager - Mining After-Sales

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, operating in Europe, Africa and Asia. Working alongside the Project Manager, the Deputy Project & Contract Manager manages, structures, organises, monitors and develops the after-sales mining project(s) entrusted to him or her (100% mining only) and sets up new contracts in line with the Group's strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the assigned project(s) with the Project Manager, ensuring contractual commitments are met and representing BIA's interests
• Visit clients and BIA teams on site frequently, inform the PM of actions and visits, and facilitate follow-up meetings
• Support the PM in project reviews and immediately report risks, proposing a corrective action plan validated by the PM
• Propose the human and material resources needed for the project(s)
• Build knowledge of the Komatsu or other products involved, for product support, parts, logistics, training and the project team
• Develop, analyse and monitor operational reporting with the PM and on-site teams
• Provide backup to the Project Manager where necessary
• Maintain operational relations with customers and propose technical support, spare parts, on-site service and training solutions
• Identify business development opportunities and propose ways to increase rebuild activity on and off site

Required profile

• University degree (engineer or equivalent)
• 3 years' experience desirable
• Management experience preferred
• Project management experience (major projects, planning software, MS Project, etc.)
• Knowledge of an ERP-type system is a plus
• Experience with international organisations having a local presence
