Senior Technical Specialist – REDD+ (Guinea)

About the role

Fauna & Flora is looking for a Senior Technical Specialist to lead the co‑design, development and implementation of a pioneering REDD+ project in the Ziama Biosphere Reserve, Guinea. You will play a key role in integrating REDD+ into multi‑decadal climate, nature and community strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design and implement the REDD+ project in Ziama Biosphere Reserve.
• Collaborate with the Landscape Manager and Guinea team to deliver strategic and technical engagement with the Government of Guinea and local partners.
• Ensure high‑integrity REDD+ practices and compliance with carbon market standards.
• Explore additional nature‑based carbon opportunities in the region.
• Manage day‑to‑day project operations and reporting.

Required profile

• Strong, holistic technical expertise in REDD+ and nature‑based climate mitigation.
• Proven experience developing and managing forestry and land‑use climate projects.
• Ability to work effectively with government agencies, NGOs and local stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
