Assistant Fleet Manager

About the role

The Assistant Fleet Manager will be based on a mine site in Guinea and will support the fleet of heavy equipment used for public works, mining and transport. The role ensures that maintenance policies, safety standards and operational procedures are applied consistently to maximise equipment availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct toolbox talks, update risk assessments and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on mining equipment to meet contractual availability targets.
• Coordinate supervisors and their teams, organise work schedules and optimise staff utilisation.
• Report technical data, defective tools and end‑of‑shift handovers to the fleet manager.
• Manage performance reviews, set objectives and provide coaching to develop technical and soft skills.

Required profile

• Fluent in French and good knowledge of English.
• Minimum 3 years experience in mining or construction and at least 5 years in a supervisory position.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, risk analysis and SOP implementation.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance and communicate effectively with hierarchy.

Required skills

• Knowledge of risk assessments, JSEA and standard operating procedures.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and technical diagnostics following OEM guidelines.
