Biodiversity & PA Management Expert and Project Monitoring & Evaluation

About the role

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is seeking a Biodiversity & Protected Area Management Expert to lead monitoring and evaluation activities for the GINP‑Nimba‑Diécké project, a trans‑boundary initiative funded by the European Union.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialized technical expertise on biodiversity, protected‑area management and monitoring‑and‑evaluation for the project across Guinea, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire.
• Ensure the technical quality of conservation interventions and compliance with the EU funding agreement and IUCN standards.
• Support the Project Coordinator and the Head of the Guinea Office in planning, implementing and reporting on environmental‑governance activities.
• Facilitate data collection, analysis and reporting for project monitoring and evaluation, including preparation of progress reports.
• Contribute to the development of management plans for protected areas and to strengthening ecological connectivity in the trans‑boundary landscape.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in biodiversity conservation and protected‑area management.
• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of conservation projects.
• Ability to work in the three target countries (Guinea, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire) and coordinate with local partners.
