Chief Risk Officer (CRO) – Pan‑African Bank

About the role

Our client, a leading pan‑African banking group, is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead enterprise‑wide risk management for its Guinea subsidiary. The CRO will be responsible for shaping the risk strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and embedding a strong risk culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the bank's enterprise risk management framework in line with Group and international standards.
• Drive risk strategy, governance, and policy implementation.
• Oversee risk identification, monitoring, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Define risk appetite and strengthen risk controls across the business.
• Provide strategic leadership to the Risk function.

Required profile

• 17+ years of experience in financial services risk management, including 10+ years in banking and senior leadership.
• Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory frameworks, and enterprise risk management.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and banking regulatory training are advantageous.
• Proven track record of building strong risk cultures and partnering with executive leadership.
