Country Energy Expert

About the role

We are seeking a Country Energy Expert to coordinate RELP’s services for the Government of Guinea and act as a hands‑on transaction advisor for renewable‑energy procurement programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of RELP services to the Government of Guinea and serve as the primary contact with the Ministry of Energy, EDG and regulator.
• Provide technical and transactional support across the renewable‑energy procurement cycle, including programme and tender design, off‑taker and PPA structuring, tariff framework, escrow and payment guarantees, and risk allocation.
• Manage day‑to‑day project tasks, maintain records, prepare meeting minutes and technical reports, and ensure visibility of the project internally and externally.
• Lead the working group of government and development partners to design and implement a new clean‑energy auction programme.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in the energy sector with a mix of technical/project management and transaction or advisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics or business administration; postgraduate qualification in energy or finance is a plus.
• Fluent in English and French (written and oral).
• Strong understanding of Guinea’s electricity sector, Ministry of Energy, EDG and regulator AREE, and the national energy agenda.
• Proven project‑management skills to coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive activities to milestones.
