Deputy Site Manager - Mining Equipment

About the role

BIA Group, which sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, is hiring a Deputy Site Manager in Guinea. The role covers the operation of machine fleets under customer contracts, supports the Site Manager in day-to-day management and acts as interim Site Manager in their absence.

Key responsibilities

• Quality: implement the quality plan, monitor KPIs and report non-conformities
• HSE: take part in risk analyses, ensure compliance with HSE procedures, supervise JHAs and PPE, run safety meetings and report incidents
• Fleet management: organise and dispatch teams, carry out inspections, preventive maintenance, breakdowns and repairs, analyse machine data (VHMS, KOWA) and breakdowns, prepare parts lists and supply the Planning Department with technical data
• Support the Site Manager in project implementation and assist in daily site management
• Report abnormal situations to the Planning Manager and line management, and take part in the monthly activity report

Required profile

• Technical degree or equivalent, with at least 8-10 years of experience
• Essential: experience in Africa or as an expatriate, and mining experience (at least in public works)
• French and English; English is a plus
• Managerial leadership, people management experience and results orientation

Required skills

• ERP systems (SAP proficiency is a plus)
• Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of KOMATSU machines is an asset but not mandatory
