HES (Health, Environment and Safety) Technician (m/f)

About the role

The HES Technician will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies across all operational areas of the project in Siguiri, Guinea. Reporting to senior management, you will guide the HSE team, ensure regulatory compliance and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the application of HSE policies and procedures in all operational sites.
• Lead, coach and train the HSE team to achieve high performance.
• Develop, maintain and audit the HSE management system against ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents and near‑misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with other departments and external stakeholders to promote safety and environmental stewardship.
• Monitor HSE performance indicators and prepare analytical reports.
• Participate in emergency response planning, drills and ensure readiness.
• Stay informed on emerging HSE trends, technologies and best practices, integrating them into company programs.
• Represent the company at HSE meetings, forums and regulatory inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in HSE management, preferably within construction or mining.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Fluent French (spoken and written) with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and work effectively in a team.
• Willingness to travel as required.
