IT Support Technician

About the role

The IT Support Technician will work on‑site at Banque Populaire Maroco‑Guinéenne in Conakry, providing first‑line technical assistance to employees. The role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware and software issues to ensure minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot incidents on desktop computers and related devices.
• Perform basic computer repairs and replace faulty hardware components.
• Install, configure and update operating systems, applications and standard banking software.
• Maintain printers, peripherals and ensure proper network connectivity.
• Document support activities and track inventory of IT assets.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or external vendors.
• Assist with routine maintenance, updates and follow security guidelines.
• Collaborate with branch teams to minimize technology downtime.

Required profile

• Proficiency in technical support and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with desktop computers, including installation and upgrades.
• Skills in printer support and computer hardware repair.
• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and office productivity tools.
• Strong customer‑service mindset with clear communication.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Conakry and manage multiple requests.
• Relevant technical diploma or degree; certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft are a plus.
• Previous experience in a help‑desk or desktop‑support role; banking experience is advantageous.
