Modern Butcher – Retail & Mass Distribution

About the role

We are seeking a Modern Butcher to join a retail and mass‑distribution partner’s butchery team. Reporting to the Butchery Department Manager or Production Manager, you will handle meat receiving, processing, and presentation while ensuring strict hygiene and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and store meat products in compliance with hygiene and food‑safety regulations.
• Prepare, cut, debone, trim and portion various meat cuts according to departmental specifications.
• Produce a range of butcher products, ensuring correct labeling, packaging and attractive presentation for sale.
• Maintain the cold chain, monitor storage temperatures and guarantee product freshness and traceability.
• Keep butchery equipment, tools and work areas clean and in good working order.
• Participate in stock management, loss control and waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Support customer service by ensuring a well‑presented department and responding to client needs.

Required profile

• Professional training or qualification in butchery, meat processing or a related field.
• Previous experience as a butcher, preferably in retail, modern butchery or food‑processing environments.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work efficiently with high production volumes.
• Team spirit, punctuality and a solid sense of responsibility.
• Fluent French is required.
