Motor Specialist Technician

About the role

The Motor Specialist Technician will ensure that motor rebuild projects are executed with the highest quality and reliability, meeting the timelines defined in the project plan. Working in a fully equipped REMAN workshop, you will coordinate resources, supervise technicians and guarantee compliance with Komatsu standards.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise workshop labour and resources to achieve operational targets.
• Assist the workshop manager in short‑ and mid‑term planning, considering parts delivery.
• Monitor daily progress against the plan and allocate job cards to maximise throughput.
• Supervise sub‑ordinates to deliver quality work according to Komatsu Standard Procedures.
• Ensure correct use of RESO software by all workers.
• Provide daily operational reports, timesheets and component testing results to the Senior Supervisor.
• Maintain detailed records, pictures and labour logs for every job.
• Deliver on‑the‑job training, technical advice and promote safe working practices.

Required profile

• Craft or advanced certificate in a related mechanical/electrical field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a fully equipped REMAN workshop handling mining machine components.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics and electricity, and experience with rebuild facility procedures.
• Customer‑focused attitude and respect for team leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and MS Project.
• Experience using RESO software.
• Familiarity with Komatsu Standard Procedures.
• Hands‑on ability to remove and install motor components.
