Permitting and Governance Coordinator

About the role

The Permitting and Governance Coordinator will manage the full lifecycle of mining permits, licenses, and regulatory obligations for Kouroussa Gold Mine in Guinea. Reporting to the Country Manager, the role ensures strict compliance with Guinean mining regulations and maintains effective engagement with ministries and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit applications for permits, licenses, and renewals, ensuring completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of all filings and anticipate renewal timelines to avoid expirations.
• Track submitted dossiers through approval, follow up with authorities to resolve delays, and coordinate with internal Legal and Finance teams.
• Prepare and submit periodic regulatory reports, monitor submission status, and support tax recovery processes.
• Develop and maintain a compliance register, implement tracking tools and alerts, and provide weekly status updates to the Country Manager.
• Draft official correspondence, support preparation of meetings and visits, and coordinate inspections and site missions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in regulatory or administrative roles within the mining or extractive sector in Guinea.
• Strong knowledge of Guinean mining regulations and administrative processes.
• Proven ability to manage regulatory timelines and documentation.
