Regulatory & Legal Expert – Power Systems & Market Design

About the role

K&A Engineering Consulting is seeking a senior Regulatory/Legal Expert to support a MCC‑funded infrastructure project in Central America. The role focuses on power system operations, electricity market design, and regulatory compliance for renewable energy and battery storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret grid codes, PPAs, and penalty mechanisms.
• Develop regulatory strategies for renewable integration and battery energy storage systems.
• Provide legal guidance on electricity market design and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Prepare technical and legal documentation for client and stakeholder review.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in PPAs, grid codes, and related regulatory frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, law, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record in power system operations and market design.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
