Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior AI / Digital Transformation Expert to lead the digital transformation of transport governance across the ECOWAS region. You will support the integration of artificial intelligence, smart monitoring systems and data‑driven decision tools within a EU‑funded technical assistance project.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital transformation strategies and smart transport governance solutions.
• Provide technical assistance for AI integration into transport, logistics and infrastructure systems.
• Design AI‑enabled monitoring tools, predictive analytics and digital decision‑support platforms.
• Advise on automation, digital interoperability, data governance and innovation frameworks.
• Support digitalisation of corridor monitoring, customs, road safety, transport observatories and infrastructure management.
• Prepare technical specifications, innovation roadmaps and operational guidelines.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities for ECOWAS institutions and partners.
• Contribute to monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs on digital innovation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Data Science or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in digital transformation, AI or smart infrastructure systems.
• Proven experience on digitalisation projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
