Welding Technician – Specialist (Boilermaking/Soldering)

About the role

The Welding Technician – Specialist will perform all required welding activities on a mining site in Guinea, ensuring the highest quality standards while supporting BIA Group’s values of safety, professionalism and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Execute welding tasks on mining equipment, including crack and bucket repairs, using appropriate pre‑heating and post‑heating procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate and repair components.
• Prepare and file service reports accurately.
• Comply with all company policies, especially safety, environmental and code of conduct.
• Assist in training staff from other departments on welding techniques.
• Maintain administrative records and use PC software for documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of welding experience in the mining industry.
• Welding Technician degree or relevant certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic English communication skills (a plus).
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work full‑time.
• Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.
