Commercial Manager

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a full-time Commercial Manager based in Conakry. The role covers sales strategy, commercial management, team leadership, distribution and financial reporting, with a focus on West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Sales strategy and business development: develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets, identify new opportunities and markets, conduct market research and competitor analysis, and build long-term client and partner relationships.
• Commercial management: set pricing strategies, negotiate contracts and terms, monitor profitability and margins, and manage tenders and large commercial transactions.
• Sales operations and team leadership: lead and motivate the regional sales team, set KPIs, manage forecasting and pipelines, run training and development programmes.
• Customer relationship management: maintain strong ties with key accounts, ensure satisfaction and retention, and resolve complaints quickly.
• Distribution management: strengthen distribution networks across several West African countries, onboard distributors, agents and channel partners, and ensure product availability.
• Financial management and reporting: prepare sales budgets, forecasts and commercial reports, track performance and profitability, and advise senior management.
• Compliance and risk management: comply with local laws and trade regulations, mitigate commercial risks and uphold ethical practices.

Required profile

• Fluency in spoken and written French.
• Proven experience in the steel and iron industry and/or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of sales, commercial operations, distribution management and business development.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skills.
• Preferred: previous experience in West Africa, experience managing regional sales teams and distributor networks, and strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
