Finance Associate (Budget & Procurement)

About the role

The Finance Associate will join the World Bank’s Budget and Procurement Solutions Vice Presidency, supporting the Country Office Accounting workstream in Conakry (Guinea) and Niamey (Niger). Reporting to senior finance leaders, the associate provides timely accounting, payment processing and cash‑management services while ensuring cost‑effective and controlled financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting entries, reconcile accounts and process payments for country office transactions.
• Manage cash‑management activities, including monitoring balances and preparing cash forecasts.
• Support budget planning, financial reporting and analytics for the regional and global finance units.
• Maintain compliance with World Bank financial policies, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement, budgeting and knowledge units to harmonise processes and improve efficiency.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in accounting, financial analysis, controls and procedural compliance.
• Strong English communication skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Eligibility for local recruitment in Guinea or Niger.
