HME Field Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The HME Field Maintenance Specialist provides hands‑on technical expertise for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and optimisation of the HME fleet. This role is central to ensuring equipment reliability, high maintenance quality and continuous improvement while supporting safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation maintenance and repairs on HME equipment.
• Diagnose faults, implement corrective actions and support preventative, predictive and condition‑based maintenance programmes.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and operators, and conduct equipment inspections.
• Analyse maintenance and reliability data to identify improvement opportunities and participate in root‑cause failure analysis investigations.
• Support maintenance planning, scheduling and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, assist with commissioning, upgrades and equipment modifications.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to enhance plant performance and recommend procedural improvements.

Required profile

• Trade qualification, diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related technical field.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on maintenance experience with heavy‑machinery equipment (HME).
• Proven ability to conduct root‑cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of predictive, preventive and condition‑monitoring maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, schematics and maintenance documentation.
