Materials Manager – Guinea

About the role

The Materials Manager will lead warehouse and supply‑chain activities at a locomotive maintenance facility near the port of Morebaya, Guinea. The role ensures that all material‑related functions – from forecasting to procurement – are executed efficiently to support 24/7 operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate material forecasts based on project schedules, repair plans and historical data.
• Oversee inventory control, set reorder points, safety stock levels and manage replenishment processes.
• Direct day‑to‑day warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping.
• Manage logistics and customs clearance for material movements between Guinea, the USA, India and South Africa.
• Implement and enforce SOPs, safety protocols and quality standards in the warehouse.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field (experience may substitute).
• Proven experience in material planning, forecasting, inventory management and procurement within a manufacturing, engineering or maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of supply‑chain principles, inventory control methodologies and warehouse management systems.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
