Technical Field Service & Advising Specialist (FIFO)

About the role

The Technical Field Service and Advising Specialist will provide on‑site technical support for Wabtec locomotives on the customer rail network in Guinea. Working on a FIFO schedule (60 days on, 15 days off), the role ensures safe, timely servicing and continuous improvement of locomotive performance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned and unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting, failure analysis and field‑modification oversight.
• Provide technical training and assistance to customers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Wabtec Maintenance Instructions.
• Maintain accurate updates in the Maintenance Management System during each shift.
• Track and forecast material and consumable usage, coordinating Just‑In‑Time delivery.
• Monitor product performance metrics and recommend continuous‑improvement actions.
• Collaborate with reliability engineers, Wabtec global teams and other stakeholders to improve KPI outcomes.
• Participate in EHS initiatives and ensure safe work practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of customer‑facing locomotive service experience with Wabtec equipment.
• L1 Locomotive Technical Training certification.
• Willingness and ability to work in a shop environment on rotating shifts.
• Understanding of Wabtec maintenance and material‑management processes.
