Assistant Fleet Manager

About the role

The Assistant Fleet Manager will be based on a mine site in Guinea and will support the Fleet Manager in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the mining equipment fleet. The role combines health‑and‑safety oversight, operational maintenance, people management and reporting responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular toolbox talks and enforce HSE policies, risk assessments and SOPs.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on mining equipment to meet contractual availability.
• Coordinate supervisors and field staff, schedule work, and optimise utilisation of personnel and tools.
• Manage performance reviews, coaching and development of team members.
• Report technical data, handover documents and defective tooling to the Fleet Manager and maintain accurate machine‑hour records.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and ability to lead safety initiatives.
• Experience supervising field teams and managing performance processes.
• Ability to follow and enforce SOPs, JSEA and risk‑assessment procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and instruction delivery.
