Business Development Manager – Steel Trading (Guinea)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive steel trading activities across Guinea. You will identify high‑value opportunities in hot‑rolled coil, cold‑rolled coil, galvanized and pre‑painted steel, and build lasting relationships with local partners.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and technical consultation to contract negotiation, closing, and long‑term account management.
• Analyse Guinean market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning and regional demand to develop localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, logistics and finance teams to navigate customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfilment.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with existing clients while aggressively expanding market share to exceed sales targets.
• Represent the company at major Guinean trade events and industry associations to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English for business communication.
• Minimum 3 years of international steel trading experience with a proven import/export track record.
• Strong negotiation abilities, commercial acumen and an established network within the Guinean steel industry.
• Self‑starter, resilient, comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips.
