Business Improvement Manager

About the role

The Business Improvement Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives across Rio Tinto’s operations. You will embed Lean, Six Sigma and other methodologies to boost productivity, cut costs and enhance safety while supporting the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute site‑wide improvement strategies aligned with global goals.
• Identify, prioritize and implement improvement opportunities in operations and support functions.
• Facilitate structured problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and data‑driven decision making.
• Drive Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous‑improvement tools across the organization.
• Monitor and improve KPIs such as productivity, cost efficiency and asset performance.
• Lead cross‑functional projects from concept through implementation and sustainment.
• Track, report and validate project benefits, ROI and value realization.
• Train and mentor employees in improvement methodologies and build internal capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale improvement programs in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and coaching skills.
• Commitment to safety and zero‑harm principles.
