Crushing Advisor – Mining Operations Lead

About the role

The Crushing Advisor is responsible for overseeing all crushing operations, ensuring safety, equipment reliability and production targets are achieved. This senior position combines real‑time decision making with team leadership to drive efficiency in a mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and lead daily, weekly and monthly crushing activities to meet production goals while monitoring gross and net loading rates.
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular audits and keep key safety KPIs such as AIFR and LDI within limits.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyse downtime causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coach and mentor the national workforce to minimise oversized or sticky material and avoid production loss.
• Prepare detailed shift reports covering production data, incidents and maintenance activities.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings to reinforce compliance.
• Manage workforce scheduling, training and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimise material flow and reduce bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Mining, Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in crushing operations and maintenance, with 3‑5 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to develop low‑literacy workforces, preferably in West or Central Africa.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
