GET and Undercarriage Specialist

About the role

The GET and Undercarriage Specialist will lead the preventive maintenance, overhaul and replacement of GETs and undercarriages on dozers, graders, wheel dozers and shovels for BIA Group’s mining customers in Guinea. The role combines technical supervision, stock management and customer‑focused service delivery to ensure high equipment availability and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safety rules are always respected on site.
• Maintain high machine availability through correct use and maintenance of GETs and undercarriages.
• Promote best‑practice standards in line with the Maintenance Management System and OEM specifications.
• Supervise maintenance works, monitor scope, duration and quality, and enforce operational guidelines.
• Coach and mentor team members, ensuring KPI compliance for both client and BIA.
• Inspect buckets and wear packages, generate weekly inspection reports with recommendations.
• Prepare, execute and follow up on offers, coordinating with PMs and PSSRs.
• Collect data for accurate 3‑month and 12‑month forecasting of GET and undercarriage change‑outs.
• Coordinate stock management and replenishment with supply chain to avoid shortages.
• Produce monthly performance reports and maintain complete documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant education and extensive experience with heavy equipment GETs and undercarriages.
• Minimum 5 years of mining experience and at least 3 years on earth‑moving equipment.
• Proven stock‑management and commercial experience.
• Strong understanding of maintenance processes and good communication skills.
