Head of Taxation

About the role

We are seeking an executive‑level Head of Taxation to lead the tax function for a multi‑sector conglomerate operating in Guinea. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will shape tax strategy, ensure full compliance, and drive cross‑border optimisation across diverse business units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead direct, indirect (VAT), customs and corporate tax compliance for infrastructure, manufacturing and commercial units.
• Drive alignment across five reporting frameworks: OHADA statutory books, tax books, management books, IFRS/group reporting books, and banking & lender compliance books.
• Manage transfer‑pricing policies, inter‑company agreements and cross‑border transactions (Guinea, UAE and other jurisdictions).
• Serve as the primary liaison with local tax authorities, handling disputes and ensuring audit readiness.
• Ensure financial records meet loan covenant requirements and support trade‑finance facilities.
• Identify and maximise incentives under the Guinea Investment Code and sector‑specific tax benefits.

Required profile

• Professional tax qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, Chartered Tax Advisor or equivalent); a Master’s in Tax, Finance or Law is a plus.
• 12‑18+ years of progressive tax experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Deep hands‑on knowledge of the Guinea Tax Code, OHADA/SYSCOHADA, IFRS and transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Experience in infrastructure projects, EPC contracts, project financing or multi‑entity conglomerates.
• Strong negotiation skills, executive presence and the ability to align tax strategy with business objectives.
