About the role
The Junior HSEC / Social / ESG Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, environment, social and ESG requirements across projects in Guinea. The role involves field‑based monitoring, stakeholder engagement, data collection and reporting in line with Guinean regulations, client standards and international frameworks. It is ideal for a proactive professional with hands‑on experience in HSEC, social safeguards or ESG seeking growth in a project‑based environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in applying HSE policies, procedures and site‑specific plans.
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
- Monitor compliance with Guinean HSE regulations and client requirements.
- Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
- Help with environmental monitoring such as waste, emissions, water, dust, noise and biodiversity.
- Support implementation and monitoring of ESMPs and site mitigation measures.
- Assist in stakeholder engagement, community consultations and grievance redress mechanisms.
- Collect social data on labour conditions, community health and safety, and land access.
- Gather ESG data, track indicators and prepare monitoring reports for clients and lenders.
- Participate in audits, inspections and E&S assessments.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, HSE, Sustainability or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in HSEC, social safeguards, ESG or related E&S roles, preferably in mining, infrastructure, energy or construction.
- Ability to work in remote, multicultural environments and conduct field missions across Guinea.
- Good communication skills in French; English is an advantage.
Required skills
- Knowledge of HSEC and ESG principles and field implementation.
- Familiarity with ESIA, ESMP and monitoring frameworks.
- Understanding of international standards such as IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESF and AfDB safeguards.
- Strong reporting and data collection abilities.
- NEBOSH certification (or equivalent).
- Awareness of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
