Material Manager – Guinea (FIFO)

About the role

The Material Manager will oversee all warehouse and material activities at the customer facility near the port of Morebaya, Guinea. This FIFO position (60 days on‑site, 15 days off) ensures the timely availability of parts for locomotive maintenance while leading a team of Material Specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate material forecasts based on project schedules, repair plans and historical data.
• Manage inventory control, set reorder points, safety stock levels and conduct regular audits and cycle counts.
• Oversee day‑to‑day warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping.
• Coordinate logistics and customs clearance for material movement between Guinea, the USA, India and South Africa.
• Lead, coach and evaluate a team of Material Specialists to ensure efficient support of project needs.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in material planning, inventory management and warehouse operations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team in a 24/7, shift‑based environment.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and cross‑border logistics.
• Ability to work on a FIFO schedule and adapt to remote site conditions.
