Material Specialist – Guinea

About the role

The Material Specialist will manage the flow of materials into the locomotive repair line at our subcontractor facility in Guinea, ensuring that the right parts are available when needed. The position works on a 24/7 schedule with two 12‑hour shifts and includes accommodation and meals on site.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the technical execution team to fulfil material requests and communicate any issues.
• Plan, direct and coordinate warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials.
• Recommend and implement methods to improve efficiency, productivity and reduce inventory while meeting KPIs.
• Monitor performance of third‑party logistics providers (shipping and freight forwarding).
• Lead daily morning meetings, conduct cycle and annual stock counts, and resolve discrepancies.
• Inspect incoming materials for quality, verify orders, and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organized warehouse environment and document 5S improvements.
• Operate forklift and other material‑handling equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and distribution.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Guinean national fluent in French and English; Mandarin is a plus.
