National English Language Consultant for UNICEF Guinea

About the role

UNICEF Guinea is seeking a National Consultant to deliver English language training to its staff. The consultant will assess current proficiency, design a tailored learning plan, and provide interactive instruction to improve workplace communication.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial language assessments for individual staff and groups.
• Develop a customized English learning plan and adult‑focused methodology.
• Deliver regular classroom and one‑on‑one training sessions.
• Create practical learning materials, exercises, and assignments aligned with UNICEF communication needs.
• Monitor progress through periodic assessments and provide monthly reports.
• Submit a final report summarizing activities, participation, outcomes, and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Professional certification such as TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, DELTA or equivalent (highly desirable).
• Minimum five years of experience teaching English as a second or foreign language.
• Proven experience delivering training to adult learners in professional settings.
• Experience designing language assessments and customized learning plans.
• Previous work with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs or development partners is an asset.

Required skills

• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Good command of French.
• Strong facilitation, coaching and interpersonal communication abilities.
