Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer (Break & Fix)

About the role

An experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer is sought to provide break-and-fix support for enterprise infrastructure. This is a freelance, on-call position covering Conakry and Kaloum, Guinea, with low priority. The role suits someone who can quickly diagnose and resolve hardware, network and infrastructure incidents while keeping a high standard of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote break-and-fix support for networking and infrastructure incidents.
• Deploy, configure and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization and network issues, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS and DHCP.
• Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents and service requests within agreed times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain technical documentation, incident reports and service records.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking or IT support.
• Valid CCNA certification; ID, passport and valid work permit required.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills.
• Preferred: Nutanix certification (NCP or equivalent).

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Nutanix (AOS, AHV, Prism) and VMware and/or Hyper-V.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Proven break-and-fix support in enterprise environments.
• Backup and disaster recovery experience.
• PowerShell and/or Python scripting is an advantage.
