Operational and Trades Training Programs Manager

About the role

The Manager of Operational and Trades Training Programs leads the design, delivery and continuous improvement of training initiatives for SimFer’s operations and maintenance teams in Guinea. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures that both employees and contractors acquire the skills needed to work safely and efficiently in a dynamic mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define strategic vision and lead the development of world‑class training programs for Guinean staff and contractors.
• Assess talent pipelines, create skills profiles and identify gaps to design targeted learning solutions.
• Oversee the Trades Training Team, managing apprenticeship and trades curricula.
• Direct the Operations Training Team, ensuring high‑quality training for heavy mobile and fixed‑plant equipment operators.
• Support operational readiness by adapting training during the transition from construction to full operations.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, industry bodies and contractors to enhance technical standards and community benefits.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in training program design and delivery within an industrial or mining context.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate strategic workforce plans into actionable training initiatives.
• Experience managing apprenticeship, trades and equipment‑operator training programs.
• Demonstrated capability to work with external partners and drive community‑focused training projects.
