Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is looking for a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment and management of integrated road crash data systems for the EU‑funded “Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance” project. The role will support ECOWAS institutions and regional partners in building harmonised, interoperable crash data frameworks and evidence‑based road‑safety monitoring tools across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management platforms.
• Provide technical assistance on data collection methods, database design and interoperability standards.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure datasets into a unified system.
• Define harmonised crash‑data templates, data standards and analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting tools and road‑safety monitoring applications.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation and evidence‑based decision‑making processes.
• Coordinate with transport ministries, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, training sessions and capacity‑building activities on crash‑data systems and analytics.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems or transport analytics, including at least 7 years focused on crash‑data systems.
• Proven experience on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with donor‑funded international development programmes.
