About the role

Rio Tinto SimFer is offering a paid internship for Guinean students studying Mining Engineering or Geology. The internship is part of the Simandou Iron Ore Project, one of the world’s largest high‑grade iron ore reserves. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support mining and geological engineering activities on the Simandou site.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting for exploration and mine planning.
• Participate in field visits, sampling, and laboratory work under supervision.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical documents and presentations.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of a Bachelor’s program in Mining Engineering or Geology.
• Guinean nationality.
• Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in the mining sector.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus.
