Stock Accountant Assistant

About the role

The Stock Accountant Assistant will ensure accurate valuation and control of stock across mining depots and the Conakry office. The role supports the finance team by maintaining precise inventory records, analysing variances and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Validate daily stock valuations in line with group accounting principles and legal mandates.
• Analyse and resolve stock variances, monitor unit costs and integrate landed costs.
• Record sales orders, stock transfers and customs duties within the correct accounting period.
• Maintain and stabilise the inventory module in SAP, supervise accounts payable for hydrocarbon products and clear balance‑sheet items such as GRNI, duty claims and consignments.
• Conduct monthly physical stock counts, reconcile physical and book stock, and perform month‑end stock reconciliations.
• Provide support to the Supply & Distribution team on inventory matters and monitor inventory‑related KPIs.

Required profile

• Graduate (Business school or Master’s) in Financial Accounting, Management Control, Audit or related field.
• Strong background in finance with experience in stock/inventory accounting, preferably in oil products or cylinder handling.
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail and capacity to work under pressure.
• Good supervisory and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP inventory management module.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and purchase order processing.
• Understanding of financial accounting principles and depot operations.
