Stock Accountant Assistant

About the role

The Stock Accountant Assistant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of stock volumes and values across mining depots and the Conakry office. The role supports the implementation of stock control procedures, safeguards company assets, and contributes to continuous improvement of inventory processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate stock valuation in line with group accounting principles and legal requirements.
• Analyze, explain, and correct daily variances in stock values and unit costs.
• Review and integrate landed costs, comparing actual costs with provisions.
• Record sales orders, stock transfers, and customs duties within the correct accounting period.
• Stabilize and maintain the SAP inventory management module.
• Supervise accounts payable for hydrocarbon products and clear balance‑sheet accounts.
• Perform monthly physical stock counts, reconcile book and physical stock, and investigate discrepancies.
• Execute month‑end stock reconciliations, verify SAP data accuracy, and monitor inventory‑related KPIs.
• Provide support to the Supply & Distribution team on inventory matters and implement improvement actions.

Required profile

• Business school or Master’s degree graduate in Financial Accounting, Management, Audit, or Management Control.
• Strong finance background with experience in stock/inventory accounting.
• Knowledge of oil product and cylinder inventory management.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and purchase order processing.
• Familiarity with depot operations and ability to integrate operational and accounting requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Good supervisory and communication abilities.
