Asset Management Manager

About the role

The Asset Management Manager will lead the development and execution of Rio Tinto's asset management and engineering strategy, ensuring the reliability, availability, and cost‑effectiveness of all physical assets. This senior position works closely with maintenance, technical services, and operations to drive continuous improvement and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long‑term Asset Management Strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead asset lifecycle planning, including acquisition, operation, maintenance, replacement, and disposal.
• Establish and maintain the Asset Management Plan, policies, and KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and lifecycle cost.
• Optimize maintenance strategies (PM, PdM, RCM, RCA) and ensure reliability engineering principles are applied.
• Oversee CMMS/ERP systems for asset tracking, maintenance planning, and data quality.
• Drive digitalisation through data analytics, predictive technologies, and performance reporting.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, conduct cost‑benefit analyses, and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
• Conduct asset audits, risk assessments, and failure analysis reviews.
• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary asset management team.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to meet performance targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or asset management.
• Professional certification in Asset Management (e.g., IAM, CAMA) is a strong plus.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale asset strategies and manage multidisciplinary teams.
