HR Labour Law & Compliance Specialist – Africa

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to lead labour law and statutory compliance for a manufacturing operation across Africa. The role involves close interaction with government authorities, ensuring all regulatory obligations are met and supporting a compliant work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with local labour laws and statutory regulations.
• Manage all statutory compliance activities, including audits, licences, and documentation.
• Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies on behalf of the company.
• Coordinate labour inspections and respond to legal compliance inquiries.
• Handle employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and grievance resolution.
• Oversee timely renewal of statutory registrations and licences.
• Prepare compliance reports and maintain accurate statutory records.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of HR experience with a focus on labour law and compliance.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of African labour legislation, statutory compliance, and government liaison.
• Proven ability to manage labour inspections and regulatory audits.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
