Interim Resident Coordinator – Guinea

About the role

The United Nations is seeking an interim Resident Coordinator to lead its development system in Guinea. Reporting directly to the Secretary‑General, the incumbent will guide the UN Country Team and ensure coherent implementation of the UN Cooperation Framework and the 2030 Agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the United Nations at the highest governmental levels and foster collaboration with civil society, academia, private sector and development partners.
• Lead the UN Country Team in developing, monitoring and reporting on the UN Cooperation Framework in close consultation with the Government of Guinea.
• Coordinate system‑wide UN support to the Government, ensuring alignment with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Provide strategic guidance on integrated development approaches, leveraging the assets of all UN agencies present in the country.
• Report annually to the host Government on the implementation of the UN Cooperation Framework and to the Secretary‑General on overall system performance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior development coordination or diplomatic roles within multilateral environments.
• Deep understanding of the UN development system, the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Proven ability to engage high‑level government officials and diverse development partners.
• Strong leadership and accountability for system‑wide results.
