Head of Programming II (Guinea)

About the role

The Head of Programming II will join the Country Program Senior Management Team in Guinea, providing strategic direction and leadership for large‑scale, complex humanitarian programming. Reporting to the Country Representative, the role ensures high‑quality project design, implementation and impact while managing security risks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of strategic frameworks, resource‑mobilization plans and programmatic priorities aligned with CRS and regional strategies.
• Design and oversee high‑quality projects, integrating innovative approaches, project‑management standards and MEAL methods.
• Coordinate cross‑sectoral planning to ensure integration, efficiency and effective budgeting.
• Manage senior programming staff, providing coaching, mentoring, performance assessments and well‑being support.
• Contribute to staffing plans, recruitment of senior project personnel and global orientation programmes.
• Foster a learning environment, promote accountability, and oversee application of MEAL policies.
• Collaborate with regional and country operations leads on budgeting, resource stewardship and business development for complex growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in program management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership and manage security risks.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and team‑development skills.
• Experience supervising senior staff and overseeing performance management.
• Ability to work collaboratively across sectors and with regional partners.
