Project Management Officer – Large‑Scale Mining‑Rail‑Port Programme

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Project Management Department, the Project Management Officer will own assigned work packages within a large‑scale mine‑rail‑port integrated programme in Guinea. The role drives project delivery by managing schedules, costs, quality, HSE alignment and stakeholder coordination, while producing structured reports for on‑site leadership and remote headquarters. This is a full‑time, long‑term expatriate assignment based on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end on‑site project management for assigned work streams, including schedule tracking, progress reporting, cost monitoring, quality assurance and HSE coordination.
• Organise cross‑functional coordination meetings and align work plans across engineering, procurement, construction, operations, legal and external contractors.
• Liaise with local authorities, project partners, EPC contractors, suppliers and service providers to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Identify project‑level risks, maintain risk registers, propose mitigations and escalate material risks to leadership.
• Prepare periodic progress reports, meeting minutes, risk summaries and decision‑support documentation for site and headquarters teams.
• Track action items from steering meetings, supervise execution and ensure proper closure of deliverables.
• Manage technical‑commercial interfaces among joint‑venture entities responsible for mine, railway and port assets.
• Perform other project‑management tasks as assigned by the head of the department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Project Management or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on full‑cycle project‑management experience in mining, railway, port or other large‑scale heavy‑industry environments.
