Reman Workshop Foreman - Mining Equipment

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, and operates in Europe, Africa and Asia. It is looking for a specialist engine technician who will act as the rebuilt workshop foreman, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard of quality and reliability within the planned timeframe.

Key responsibilities

• Make full use of the workshop's labour and resources to reach planned operational targets
• Help the workshop manager prepare short- and mid-term plans, taking parts delivery into account
• Follow up daily the work done against the plan and supervise subordinates to deliver quality work
• Assign job cards and allocate technicians to jobs according to their skills to maximise throughput
• Ensure work follows Komatsu Standard Procedures and check that workers use the RESO software correctly
• Submit daily reports, timesheets and component assembly and testing reports to the Workshop Senior Supervisor
• Keep detailed records and photos of every job, labour records and track of every part consumed
• Give practical on-the-job training and technical advice, maintain safe working practices and keep the workshop clean and safe

Required profile

• Craft or advanced certificate in the related field
• At least 5 years' experience in a fully equipped remanufacturing workshop dealing with mining machine components
• Experience with removal and installation of components and with rebuild facility procedures
• Prior project work experience and ability to work in a team
• Customer-focused, respectful of leadership and team members, with good verbal and written communication

Required skills

• Very good knowledge of mechanics and electricity
• Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Project
