Senior BESS & Renewables Specialist

About the role

K&A Engineering Consulting is seeking senior technical experts to support an MCC‑funded infrastructure project in Central America. The role focuses on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and renewable energy integration within power utility networks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on grid‑forming (GFM) solutions and state‑of‑charge (SoC) management.
• Develop and apply forecasting and curtailment strategies for renewable generation.
• Support power system operations, electricity market design, and regulatory framework compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑precision engineering and design services.
• Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in grid‑forming, forecasting, curtailment, and SoC management.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in power system operations, renewable energy integration, and battery storage projects.
• Familiarity with electricity market design and regulatory frameworks.
